Electrophysiology High Impact Factor Journals
Electrophysiology is the branch or field of physiology that studies broadly to the flow of ions (ion current) in biological tissues and, especially, to the electrical recording techniques that enable the measurement of this flow.
The biomedical field handling the study of electrical activity within the body. Electrophysiology includes the study of the assembly of electrical activity and therefore the effects of that electrical activity on the body. See, for example: Electrophysiologic retinal testing ; and Electrophysiologic study of the guts.
An electrophysiology (EP) study may be a test performed to assess your heart's electrical system or activity and is employed to diagnose abnormal heartbeats or arrhythmia. The test is performed by inserting catheters then wire electrodes, which measure electrical activity, through blood vessels that enter the guts.
Electrophysiology studies test the electrical activity of your heart to seek out where an arrhythmia (abnormal heartbeat) is coming from. These results can assist you and your doctor decide whether you would like medicine, a pacemaker, an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), cardiac ablation or surgery.
