Azoospermia might occur because of an obstruction within the reproductive tract or inadequate sperm production. This condition will cause male infertility. Assisted reproductive technology is also used to achieve pregnancy. sperm is also surgically extracted or provided by a donor for artificial insemination.

There are 3 forms of azoospermia:

Pre-testicular azoospermia (non-obstructive) is caused by impaired production of the hormones responsible for making sperm.

Testicular azoospermia (non-obstructive) is caused by any abnormalities within the perform or structure of the testicles.

Post-testicular azoospermia (obstructive) is caused by issues with ejaculation because of an obstruction of some type within the reproductive tract.
