Abstract:
The discovery of potent, selective and less toxic anticancer compounds is an important goal for researchers in the field of Medicinal Chemistry. In recent years, several pyrimidine derivatives have been involved in the structure of many compounds which have been used as chemotherapeutic agents and they have used in wide clinical applications. In this study, a group of novels 6-phenyl-3[2-(substituted piperazinyl) ethyl] hexahydropyrimidine 2,4-dione derivatives to observe the desired anticancer activity due to pyrimidine and piperazine based scaffolds. Synthesized compounds purity was determined with thin layer chromatography and their molecular structures were lightened with FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopic techniques.
