Abstract:

The relationship between diabetes and nutrition is multifaceted and involves our body’s ability to use carbohydrate, protein and fat for energy. All of these require insulin but carbohydrate require more immediate secretion of insulin soon after it is ingested. Carbohydrate are the major source of blood sugar or glucose, a molecular formula found in the blood that helps the brain and nervous system function properly. The study carried out with the objective to find out the relation between nutrition intake and diabetes. Gautam Budh Nagar Noida a district of Uttar Pradesh India has been selected purposively for research. An exploratory research design was adopted for the study. Survey method was used for the collection of data. The sample size was 200 respondent comprising of 75 respondent fron Kendriya Vihar Society, 50 respondent fron Swarnim Vihar, 75 from LIG housing colony. Survey schedule consist of general profile, anthropometry assessment in which height and weight were taken bio chemical assessment consist of lipid profile, urea, creatinine, Sodium Patassium were taken. Clinical assessment compromising of sign and symptoms and 24 hour recall dietary assessment method was use to measure the nutrition status of the respondent. The result revealed that there was a significant relation between the Diabetes and nutritional intake. The major findings of the study was that maximum respondent above 90% suffers from diabetes mellitus type2 have develop several other diseases like kidney disease ,adult blindness, heart disease and nerve damage , lower limb amputation.
