Nutrition science delves into the intricate mechanisms by which the food we consume impacts our body's functioning. Researchers have established strong links between poor dietary choices and the onset of chronic diseases. Diets high in processed foods, saturated fats, and added sugars are associated with obesity, hypertension, and diabetes. Conversely, diets rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins have been shown to reduce the risk of chronic diseases significantly. Years of extensive research have yielded invaluable insights into the preventive power of nutrition. Additionally, policymakers play a crucial role in shaping public health. Implementing policies that promote healthier food environments, such as taxing sugary beverages or regulating marketing of unhealthy foods to children, can encourage better dietary choices at the societal level [10].
