Dental anesthesia: Reducing pain and discomfort during procedures.
Dental anesthesia is a medical technique used by dentists to numb the area around the teeth and gums before a dental procedure. This technique is designed to help patients feel more comfortable during the procedure and minimize pain or discomfort. There are several types of dental anesthesia, including local anesthesia, general anesthesia, and conscious sedation. Local anesthesia is the most commonly used type of dental anesthesia, and it involves injecting an anesthetic drug, such as lidocaine, into the gum tissue near the affected tooth. This numbs the area so the patient cannot feel any pain during the dental procedure.Author(s): Anuvya Emma
