Vortex Shedding Open Access Journals

Vortex shedding is a process when the weather bumps across a structural member, vortices are shed alternately from one side to the other, and where the alternating low-pressure region is generated on the downwind side of the structure giving rise to a fluctuating force acting at right angles to the wind direction. For slender in tall building design, a structural member may be considered slender if the ratio of the height to its narrowest side exceeds and lightly damped buildings, large-amplitude oscillate in the plane average to the wind may develop when the vortex shedding is in activity with one of the natural frequencies of movement. Vortex shedding induced effects for very flexible members may also be necessary for higher modes.
