Vortex Induced Vibration More Open Access Journals

Vortex-induced vibration example, the Reynolds numbers, decreased velocities, and concept quality the cylinder functional properties were chosen to match the experimental setup presented by Allen and Henning. The Reynolds number in these research ranged from 2.25 × 105 ≤ Re ≤ 4.75 × 105 which acts to decreased velocities in the range 4.86 ≤ Ured ≤ 10.26. The cylinder was constrained to move in the transverse direction only and the solution at each Reynolds number was obtained by continuing with the already developed vortex-induced vibration solution from the next lower Reynolds number. The improvement of the solution in this manner is to consider to be more representative of the experimental issue, which was obtained from two tests in a large model basin.
