The Ultrafiltration

Ultrafiltration occurs between the blood and the filtrate in the glomerular capsule in the kidneys at the barriers. As in non-biological models of ultrafiltration, pressure and attention gradients cause a separation through a membrane. The Bowman's capsule contains a solid capillary network called the glomerulus. Blood flows into these capillaries through the afferent arterioles and leaves through the efferent arterioles. The high hydrostatic pressure forces small molecules within the tubular fluid like water, glucose, amino acids, common salt and urea through the filter, from the blood within the glomerular capsule across the basement film of the Bowman's capsule and into the renal tubules. This process is called ultrafiltration.
