Microfabrication and micromachining are terms that describe the technologies and processes utilized in making microscopic structures or devices. These structures can home in size from the width of a person's hair right down to smaller than one human cell. The power to create devices this small has spurred technological advancements in computers, consumer electronics, green energy technology and lots of other fields. Microfabrication techniques vary widely counting on the device being built. Main drawbacks for the implementation of BioChips in clinical routine analysis are insufficient reproducibility, lack of standardization also as expensive chips and detectors. With reference to BioChip production, industrial standards and uniform protocols haven't yet been defined. Therefore different BioChip layouts and analytical performance can't be compared.
