Impact Factor In Cytogenetics
Cytogenetics can be characterized as the analysis of the cell's structure and function, focusing primarily on the cell's structure and composition. During pregnancy, cytogenetic tests are usually performed to determine any structural or chromosomal abnormalities within the fetus. As the changes occur in the chromosomes, thus disrupting the genes and eventually leading to catastrophic or abnormal protein production , resulting in mild to serious or lethal birth defects. Karl Wilhelm von Nageli first observed Chromosomes in plant cells in 1842. Walther Flemming, the discoverer of mitosis, identified their conduct in animal (salamander) cells in 1882. The name was coined in 1888 by another German anatomist, von Waldeyer. And a journal's impact factor is calculated by dividing the amount of current year citations into the source products.
