Human Spaceflight

We describe human spaceflight's primary objectives as those that can only be accomplished by the physical presence of human beings, have benefits that surpass the cost of opportunity, and are worthy of significant risk to human life. These include discovery, national pride and leadership and international recognition.Human spaceflight meets its aims and appeals as it represents an extension of human experience to the broadest number of people.Secondary targets have advantages that accrue from the presence of humans in space but do not justify the expense and danger by themselves. Those include research, economic growth , technological and educational technologies.Although spaceflight was usually a government-driven operation, commercial spaceflight slowly took on a bigger role.
