Cushings Syndrome (CS):

Overproduction of a pituitary hormone results in an overactive adrenal . A similar condition which is named Cushing's syndrome may occur in people, particularly children, who take high doses of corticosteroid medications. It is a explanation for Cushing's syndrome characterised by increased secretion of adrenocorticotrophic hormone (ACTH) from the anterior pituitary gland (secondary hypercortisolism). This is most often as a result of the pituitary adenoma (specifically pituitary basophilism) or because of the surplus production of hypothalamus CRH (Corticotropin-releasing hormone) (tertiary hypercortisolism/hypercorticism) that can stimulate the synthesis of cortisol by the adrenal glands. Pituitary adenomas are liable for 80% of endogenous Cushing's syndrome , when excluding Cushing's syndrome from exogenously administered corticosteroids. Signs and Symptoms of Cushing Syndrome are Diagnosis, Treatment and Epidemiology.
