Abstract:
Minimally invasive dentistry (MID) is transforming pediatric restorative protocols, with techniques such as the Hall Crown method gaining global recognition. In this session, Sarah El Badry from Cairo introduces a comprehensive guide to MID in pediatric patients, focusing on atraumatic restorative techniques, the use of glass ionomer cements, and the clinical rationale behind preformed stainless-steel crowns without local anesthesia or caries removal. El-Badry discusses the latest research supporting these approaches, the behavioral and biological advantages of MID, and how they reduce dental anxiety while promoting long-term oral health. Attendees will gain practical insight into clinical case selection, success rates, and patient communication strategies to foster cooperation and trust. This lecture is ideal for general dentists and pediatric specialists aiming to implement gentle, effective, and efficient restorative care in their practices.
