Abstract:
Early Childhood Caries (ECC) remains a global public health issue, especially in low-resource and high-risk populations. Maria Torres from Manila addresses effective strategies for managing ECC in children with poor compliance, nutritional challenges, and limited access to care. Her presentation covers early detection, risk assessment models, and the use of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) and interim therapeutic restorations (ITR) as non-invasive interventions. Torres also introduces culturally sensitive communication tools for improving parental involvement and building rapport with uncooperative children. With real-world data from field clinics and community health programs in Southeast Asia, attendees will learn to develop adaptable, sustainable care plans in challenging environments.
