Where would we find enough psychiatrists to serve in the new buildings in China?
In contemporary China, mental health problems are growing fast with the rapid economic development and intense social competition taking place today. An estimated 173 million Chinese suffer from psychiatric disorders. Mental illness has become top ranked and accounts for about 20% of the total burden of diseases. It will be up to 25% in the coming 20 years in China. It has become a major medical, public health and social problem.Author(s): Yuping CAO
