Studies on the effect of piperine on gene expression of Nrf2 signaling molecules in the liver of high fat diet and sucrose induced type-2 diabetic rats.

Type-2 diabetes is an increasingly prevalent disease worldwide. The contemporary treatment for type 2 diabetes involves insulin and drug therapies. The conventional drugs used are not able to cope with the multifactorial exhibit of type 2 diabetes. The administration of medicinal plants either alone or in addition to drugs has been shown to address the treatment of diabetes at various levels and improve the quality of diabetic patients.
