IVF and Genetic Testing: How Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) Works

Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) is a form of genetic testing used in conjunction with In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) to screen embryos for genetic disorders before they are implanted into the uterus. PGD helps identify genetic mutations, chromosomal abnormalities, or other genetic defects that could cause serious health problems in the child or lead to miscarriage.
