Spina bifida is known as neural tube defect that means a type of birth defect of the brain, spine, or spinal cord. This occurs if the spinal column of the fetus won’t close completely while the first month of pregnancy. This can damage the nerves and spinal cord. When pregnancy women go for screening tests during pregnancy may check for spina bifida. In some cases it will found out only after the baby is born.
