The neuron is that the essential working unit of the brain, a specialized cell designed to transmit information to other nerve cells, muscle, or gland cells. Neurons are cells within the system nervosum that transmit information to other nerve cells, muscle, or gland cells. A neuron is an electrically excitable cell that communicates with other cells via specialized connections called synapses. It is the most component of nerve tissue altogether animals except sponges and placozoa. Plants and fungi do not have nerve cells. Neuron consists of nucleus, dendrites, axon, and axon terminals. Axon is covered by myelin sheath but not continuously, a place where myelin sheath covering is absent is called as nodes of ranvier. Neurons that simply signal the other neuron are called as interneurons. A journal could also be a periodical publication intended to further progress of science, usually by reporting new research. Most journals are highly specialized, although variety of the oldest journals publish articles, reviews, editorials, short communications, letters, and scientific papers across an honest range of scientific fields. The cell body contains the nucleus and cytoplasm.
