Gene Therapy High Impact Factor Journals

Gene therapy is an experimental technique that uses genes to treat or prevent disease. In the future, this system may allow doctors to treat a disorder by inserting a gene into a patient's cells rather than using drugs or surgery.

Gene therapy is supposed to introduce genetic material into cells to catch abreast of abnormal genes or to make a beneficial protein.  Alternately, a sample of the patient's cells are often removed and exposed to the vector during a laboratory setting. The cells containing the vector are then returned to the patient.

There are two differing types of gene therapy counting on which sorts of cells are treated:

Somatic gene therapy: transfer of a neighborhood of DNA to any cell of the body that does not produce sperm or eggs. Germline gene therapy: transfer of a neighborhood of DNA to cells that produce eggs or sperm.

Gene therapy replaces a faulty gene or adds a replacement gene in an effort to cure disease or improve your body's ability to fight disease. Gene therapy holds promise for treating a good range of diseases, like cancer, CF, heart condition , diabetes, haemophilia and AIDS.
