Identifying and prioritizing effective factors to improve cognitive rehabilitation performance in patients with schizophrenia

Aim: The aim of this study was to identify and prioritize effective factors to improve cognitive rehabilitation performance in patients with schizophrenia. Method: This study was a descriptive survey. The statistical population is all professors of Tabriz universities with a master’s degree and a PhD in psychology who have been schizophrenic and have done research work. The sample size was 20 people who were selected by available sampling method. The research instrument was a researcher- made questionnaire. Data analysis was also performed using analytical hierarchy process and analytical process that first determined the indicators and then those indicators were identified as effective factors in improving cognitive rehabilitation performance in patients with schizophrenia. Results: Findings showed that among the most effective factors in improving cognitive rehabilitation performance in patients with schizophrenia, improving communication skills, social skills training and dependency management, promoting learning and educational skills were the highest priority. Conclusion: It was concluded that social factors such as improvement of communication skills can be effective in reducing rehabilitation performance in people with schizophrenia.
