Factors contributing to sports injuries among senior high students in Akuapem municipality

Several factors lead to sports injuries and these go a long way to control prospects of most budding talents in our schools. In e?ploring the factors contributing sports injuries among a senior high student?athletes, descriptive cross? sectional survey designs were employed. A total of ?many student?athletes were purposely selected for the study to responded to the DAMASS inventory ?uestionnaire to derive their opinion on the factors contributing to sports in injuries. The results indicated that physiological factors are considered by S.H.S student?athletes in the Akuapem municipality as highly influential factor for sports injury than biological, psychological, and socio?cultural factors. Males perceived biological factors influence sports injuries more than females. In conclusion, the factors of sports injury contributed only ??between them on the occurrence of sports injuries in the Akuapem Municipality. Further research is recommended to remedy some of these sports injuries identified in sports competitions.
