Dr. Chitra is in the  department of Zoology and also expertised in the fields of Zoological Science and Protozoology. Presently in the Survey of Zoology in India. One of her famous publication is STUDIES ON PLANKTON DIVERSITY AND WATER QUALITY OF AMBATTUR LAKE, TAMIL NADU.
