Transforming olive waste into animal feed

Gavin Dunne

The Olive Feed Corporation, Ireland

8

million tonnes of olive waste are produced each year

worldwide. That is after the oil has been extracted the

skin, flesh, stone and seed remain. There is no uniform way

of disposing of or processing this in Europe, or anywhere

else. It gets turned into cheap bio fuel that produces GHG’s,

it gets dumped causing air, soil and water pollution. Through

a proprietary caramelization process. The Olive Feed

Corporation has transformed this waste into a palatable,

safe and nutritious animal feed, that when consumed by

animals produces the most flavorful and expensive meat in

the world, while also reducing methane gas emissions from

animals.

Speaker Biography

Gavin Dunne is an Irish entrepreneur who after establishing Ireland’s first low cost

telco and selling the company to World-com, went on to build real estate projects
