Academy of Educational Leadership's
Award for Innovative and Creative Teaching

This award will recognize an individual faculty member of a university or college for innovative and creative teaching. The individual recognized by this award will receive an engraved plaque during the awards ceremony of an Allied Academies Conference. In addition, this person's name will be added to the roll of outstanding educators which the Academy will be maintaining on its web page. These awards will be granted at the Allied Academies' International Conferences when nominations have been submitted. Nominations must be submitted by six weeks prior to each conference (see conference calls for dates).

Any full time teacher or professor at a college or university is eligible for consideration. An individual may not win the award more than once. Individuals may nominate themselves, or other faculty members they believe worthy of evaluation.

The criteria for recognition include:

The exercise of creative or innovative teaching practices; and,
Recognized stature as an outstanding instructor.

To be considered, a candidate for the award must submit: a curriculum vita; a two page statement of teaching philosophy; a two page description of the creative or innovative teaching practices; and, a maximum of five pages of supporting evidence of the individual's stature as an outstanding teacher. This last material may include summaries of teaching evaluations, faculty evaluations, peer evaluations, student evaluations, syllabi, or any other information which an individual desires to submit in support of his or her candidacy.
