Academy of Educational Leadership's
Award for Innovative and Creative Education
This award will recognize a university or college program, department, or school, for innovative and creative education. The Department Head, Chair, or Dean of the academic unit recognized by this award will receive an engraved plaque during the awards ceremony of an Allied Academies Conference. In addition, this program's name will be added to the roll of outstanding programs which the Academy will be maintaining on its web page. These awards will be granted at the Allied Academies' International Conferences when nominations have been submitted. Nominations must be submitted by six weeks prior to each conference (see conference calls for dates).
Any academic unit of a college or university is eligible for consideration. A unit may not win the award more than once.
The criteria for recognition include:
The on going delivery of outstanding instruction and education; and,
The practice of innovative and creative education.
To be considered, a candidate for the award must submit: a two page description of the academic unit, its faculty members and its administration; a two page statement of mission and vision; a two page description of the creative or innovative educational practices; and, a maximum of five pages of supporting evidence of the units's on going delivery of outstanding instruction and education. This last material may include any information which a unit desires to submit in support of its candidacy.
